Winter tyres grip better once the morning temperature drops below about seven degrees — even without snow.

Below four millimetres a winter tyre loses much of its grip on snow. Check it with a coin or a gauge.

All-season tyres

They suit town driving in a mild climate. If you often drive in the mountains, fit proper winter tyres.
